How to Complete the Lost in Transit Challenge and Unlock Drifter in Risk of Rain 2

Understanding the Lost in Transit Challenge

The Drifter is a resourceful survivor introduced in the Alloyed Collective expansion for Risk of Rain 2. Known for her unique ability to gather "Junk" to materialize temporary items, she is a powerful addition to any run. To unlock her, players must complete a specific, multi-stage hidden challenge known as "Lost in Transit."

This challenge is only available if you have the Alloyed Collective DLC active. Since this process involves navigating to specific secret stages, you will need to pay close attention to your route during a standard run.

Routing to Conduit Canyon

The path to finding Drifter begins on the third stage of your run. You need to reach the map Conduit Canyon. The most reliable way to trigger this is by finding an Access Node.

• Search for the Node: These interactable objects look like blinking red bombs. While they are more frequent on the Alloyed Collective stage Iron Alluvium, they can spawn on any third-stage map.
• Activate the Portal: Interact with the Access Node. After you complete the standard Teleporter Event for that stage, a "Virtual Portal" will appear. Entering this portal will transport you to Conduit Canyon.

Conquering Conduit Canyon and Solutional Haunt

Once you arrive in Conduit Canyon, your primary objective is to advance to the next map. You will need to gather Security Keys scattered around the map to clear the path toward the Teleporter. At the end of this path, you must face the boss, the Alloy Hunter.

After defeating the Alloy Hunter, use the Teleporter to enter Solutional Haunt (Stage 5). This is a specialized boss arena where you will fight Solus Wing.

• Boss Strategy: Focus on hitting the boss's three designated weak points to deplete its health efficiently.
• Environmental Hazard: Be mindful of the heating units. If the room begins to overheat, move toward the cooling units to avoid taking damage.

Unlocking Drifter in the Secret Vault

Once Solus Wing has been defeated, two cave entrances will open within the arena. Head into the cave that does not contain the TC-280 drone. Inside, you will find two Solus Coffers.

1. Collect the Matrices: Open both coffers to obtain two Prison Matrices.
2. Access the Vault: Return to the main arena and locate the console situated in front of a locked door. Use the first Prison Matrix to open the vault.
3. Liberate Drifter: Inside the secret vault, you will find various items, including the Drifter's prison. Interact with it using the second Prison Matrix to complete the "Lost in Transit" challenge and officially unlock Drifter as a playable survivor.

Tip

Treat the Prison Matrices like other interactive inventory items such as printers or cauldrons; once used on a terminal, they are consumed from your inventory. Ensure you do not accidentally discard them before reaching the console!
